Bryan T Wormley Photography

Bryan wanted a crisp, light design to show off his portfolio, photographic services and blog. The stark white design is in contrast to the vivid images, drawing further attention to them. Built with the user-friendly Wordpress, this site is a cinch to update and expand.

Chris Orgill, Wildlife Artist & Illustrator

Wildlife artist and illustrator Chris Orgill came to me wanting a cleanly designed site that allowed him to manage and update his portfolio himself. Using Wordpress, due to its simplicity and scalability, I was able to provide a site that not only enabled Chris to update his galleries but put him in control of all of the content on the site.

David Fox Falconry

Falconer, natural historian, wildlife photographer, author and zulu historian David Fox wanted a website that brought together all of his interests and passions. With a large brief in place, I worked to try and tie the design together - allowing David to keep his site growing and up to date.

The Long Island

This was my final project for my Masters in Biological Photography and Imaging at the University of Nottingham. With an open brief, I headed to the Outer Hebrides in search of landscape and wildlife.

With the aim of showing off my photography as much as possible, the layout needed to be consistent but with a certain amount of flexibility to allow for the variety of images used. The maps and illustrations were created with the intention of building them into the layout as much as possible.

Fotofolio

This was one of the final small projects on the Masters in Biological Photography and Imaging. The brief was to photograph, write and design a wildlife magazine article, including a front cover, on the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey.

This assignment required a design that let the photographs and images to stand out, without being swamped by text. This was a fictional magazine, though cues were taken from existing magazines in terms of what worked well and what distracted from the photographs.

About Ginger Pixel

Hi, I'm Ian James: photographer, part-time biologist and, quite conveniently, a webdesigner. Ginger Pixel is my webdesign portfolio.

Since I have feet planted firmly on both sides of the fence, my specialty is designing portfolios for photographers and artists; but I am also happy to take on different work to expand my horizons.

Whatever you want, get in touch if you like the look of what you can see and we'll have a natter. I'll put the coffee on.
